Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued less than ten are said to be at face value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they purely symbolize the two hands to be played).
2 hands of 2 cards will now be given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand will be the grand total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is dumped. For eg, a hand of 7 and five produces a tally of 2 (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card might be given depending on the foll. protocols:
- If the gambler or banker has a total of 8 or 9, the two bettors stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful stakes on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even odds less a five percent commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure that you have dollars left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pays 8 to one but on occasion 9 to one. (This is a crazy wager as ties will happen lower than 1 every ten hands. be wary of wagering on a tie. Nevertheless odds are supremely better – 9 to one vs. eight to one)
When done smartly, baccarat offers fairly good odds, away from the tie wager obviously.
Baccarat Strategy
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. 1 of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually an indicator of future happenings. Staying abreast of prior results on a chart is undoubtedly a waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most established and probably most successful method is the one-3-2-6 method. This method is used to magnify winnings and controlling risk.
Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have two on the third bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the four on the table for a sum of 6 on the 4th bet.
If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. In other words that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
