Punto Banco Rules

Baccarat is gambled on with 8 decks of cards in a dealing shoe. Cards valued less than ten are valued at face value and with 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is 1. Bets are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these aren’t actual people; they simply represent the two hands that are dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for each hand is the total of the cards, but the first number is dropped. For example, a hand of 5 and 6 has a total of 1 (five plus six equals 11; drop the first ‘1′).

A additional card could be dealt using the following rules:

- If the player or bank has a value of 8 or nine, both players stay.

- If the player has less than five, he hits. Players stands otherwise.

- If the gambler stands, the banker hits on five or lower. If the gambler takes a card, a table is employed to figure out if the bank holds or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two hands wins. Winning bets on the banker payout 19:20 (even money less a five percent rake. The Rake is tracked and cleared out once you depart the table so make sure you have funds left over just before you head out). Winning bets on the gambler pays out at one to one. Winning bets for tie usually pays 8 to 1 but occasionally nine to one. (This is a bad bet as ties happen less than 1 in every 10 hands. Be cautious of betting on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

Gambled on properly punto banco gives pretty good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games baccarat banque has a few general misconceptions. One of which is the same as a false impression in roulette. The past isn’t an indicator of events yet to happen. Keeping track of previous results at a table is a waste of paper and an affront to the tree that surrendered its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and probably the most favorable plan is the 1-3-2-6 tactic. This technique is used to pump up winnings and limit losses.

Start by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the game table for a total of 3 chips on the second bet. If you succeed you will hold 6 on the table, remove 4 so you keep two on the 3rd bet. If you succeed on the 3rd wager, add two on the four on the game table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the initial bet, you take a hit of 1. A profit on the 1st round followed by a hit on the 2nd creates a hit of two. Wins on the first 2 with a hit on the third gives you with a gain of 2. And wins on the initial three with a defeat on the 4th means you are even. Winning at all 4 rounds gives you with twelve, a take of 10. This means you can give up the second wager 5 instances for each favorable streak of 4 bets and still break even.
